Finding Opportunities
Learning to adapt to situations is certainly one of the most important lessons in managing a business. Problems are plenty, and solutions have to be churned and tested constantly.
Not long ago we experienced a few disruptions to various of our product supplies. At times, supplies may run out when the harvest seasons are over. There were several times where the walnuts we received were not as well harvested to the ones we had before. Therefore, we had to stop making certain recipes. This included honeyed walnuts, which we had to spend hours batch-making them each day.
Giving It a Little Thought.
We would like to thank everyone for your gracious and heart-warming support during the last 7 years. We appreciate the feedback and comments that we received, which had allowed us to know you better.
We started from a small simple kiosk, with two people handling everything ranging from product sourcing, product development, building up a team to the minute details of paperwork. The goal was to provide nuts at its best. No frills. Being able to share the outcomes of our work and ideas brings us satisfaction. That is why we strive to preserve our recipes and methods to bring you the unique quality and taste.
We believe in pricing our products fairly. The harsh reality is that business costs will not stop rising. Many asked why there are additional charges for packaging and bottles. Our answer is that our prices are transparent and do not contain the hidden costs of additional material. Consumers purchase what they need. Thus, those that do not require additional material do not have to face hidden costs.
Despite the rising costs, we have been giving some thought on the options. Many had asked if we have memberships and rewards. Indeed, we agree that it would be great if we deliver targeted rewards and discounts. Thus, this led us towards a serious deliberation on the benefits of building an online community. That is where we can effectively understand your perceptions, deliver greater rewards, and monitor trends more effectively.
Therefore, we spent a painstaking half year of work, drafting and finalising what we have today. As some of you would have known, our website, www.patsoven.com has been not been the same as before. However, the objectives remain. Giving you good wholesome products and keeping fees minimal remain our aims.
In the first few weeks of the launch, many came forward to provide their inputs. A kind feedback includes asking for Chia to be placed online. Many also asked how these can be consumed. Our simple advice is:
1) Soak chia for 1 hour in water. Honey or juices will also do.
2) Consume them with the drink, or add them into oatmeal. You can also blend with smoothies and yogurt.
We are still learning since the launch of the new website. We are eager to hear more from you. Please drop us a message if you do have suggestions.

Not the Usual Tortillas and Chips
1 March 2013
Once, my daughter was studying for her papers. Like some other times, a bag of cheese-flavored Cheetos sits on the desk to satisfy her cravings and sustain the momentum throughout the day. The nibbling and crunching makes me look over, thinking of grabbing some chips for myself.
They call it comfort foods. Foods that spice up life. We think its the same for cheese. Starting a good breakfast with sliced cheese on sandwiches. Grilled cheese on pastas and potatoes..
A Journey
18 December 2012
To be truthful, it has been some time since we started to work with new ideas in the kitchen, making our own range of mixtures and savoury nuts. Working on new stuff like this website and running the shops.
But I must say, be sure to come and find one of our favourites; the medley of smoked macadamias, almonds and cashews.
