We all love eating. Ice cream, cakes, coffee and more. Especially happy food that tastes good and packed with natural ingredients and nutrition.
I have interest in cook books. Finding ideas. I am always amazed by the many ways we can prepare an ingredient and turn them into food. My bakers and I too, play around with different ways to pair nuts with foods. Trying to infuse flavours and create taste.
“The peach was one a bitter almond”- Mark Twain
The sound of the nuts tossing against the sides of the large wok is very familiar to us. Each process is tiring. But very fun and very satisfying. To find the right ingredients and combinations, and putting them all together. Or just searching for the right crunchiness and mixture of nuts and fruits.
Just like the good old days with dad. I remember the fire burning through the charcoal, providing good heat to roast good peanuts.
But nuts still go well with our ovens. Every now and then, we see roasted garlic or caramalised nuts coming off the racks. Take some and munch through the warmness and fragrance in every piece. Feeling the natural goodness filling up every bite.
A short 6 years. But time finds taste. The flavour that goes all the way back.
